Hi, I’m Lisa. Welcome to my blog about healthy living!
We all know we should be doing more for our health, but where to start and what exactly should we be doing? There is tons of information available on health, diet, and exercise. But it’s all so confusing! How do you know what is right for you? Which diet should you try? Do you have to give up everything you love to be ‘healthy?” All the authors and experts are certain they know what’s best for you. Yet they know nothing about you or your background.
This blog is about me NOT knowing what’s best for you, but rather, presenting all the information and explaining it, so you can make an educated decision based on your own life and circumstances.
I’m a Holistic Health Coach. I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
As a Health Coach, I create a supportive environment that will enable you to achieve all of your health goals. I have studied all the major dietary theories and use practical lifestyle coaching methods to guide you in discovering which approach works best for you.
Most approaches to nutrition dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline.
No one diet works for everyone. I will guide you to find the food and lifestyle choices that best support you. I will also help you to make gradual, lifelong changes that enable you to reach your current and future health goals.
I saw firsthand how diet can significantly alter someone’s health. My son is on the autism spectrum and was nonverbal at 3 years old. He could say some words but his speech was limited to sentences of 2-3 words. After one week of being dairy-free, he was talking in complete sentences! No joke! It was amazing and he’s been talking non-stop ever since.
I went to nutrition school to help myself and my family and I’ve learned that there’s so many small things we can be doing to improve our health. I’m a champion of baby steps-making small, incremental changes, that are easy to sustain.
My goal is to share my own experiences and that of my family and how diet changes have changed our lives. I also want to share other articles that I think have value.
To your health!
